SERMON SERIES

Week 1

“A Light from the Sky”

Pastor Chris launched the Primeval series by showing how Genesis 1 reveals God’s truth about reality, identity, and purpose. As God speaks light into darkness and brings order from chaos, we’re invited to surrender to His Word as the final authority for our lives and the year ahead.

Week 2

“A Man from the Dust”

Pastor Joe teaches how Genesis 2 shows us that we are God-breathed, image-bearing people created with purpose and deep value. It also reveals God’s design for community and marriage, where men and women are made to complement one another in covenant love.

Week 3

“Truth and Consequences”

Genesis 3 shows us that sin is personal. It begins when we question God’s goodness and seek independence from Him. Yet even in the fall, God plants a promise of hope, pointing forward to Jesus, who enters the fight with us and ultimately secures victory over sin and death.

Week 4

“Worship Begins in the Morning”

Genesis 4 reveals that the story of Cain and Abel is ultimately about worship, showing that God desires hearts of genuine faith rather than mere outward offerings. True worship is a daily response to God, shaping our hearts and serving as our strongest defense against sin.

Week 5

“A Single Ray of Hope”

In a chapter marked by death and brokenness, Genesis 5 reveals a single ray of hope through Enoch, a man who faithfully walked with God in a corrupt world. His life shows us that when everything around us is falling apart, hope is found in humbly and dependently walking with God.

Week 6

“Noah - Part 1”

In Genesis 6, we begin a deeper look at the story of Noah, revealing both the seriousness of human sin and the holiness and patience of God. This message shows that Noah was saved by God’s grace, not his goodness, pointing us to Jesus as the true and final Ark of rescue.

Week 7

“Noah - Part 2”

In Genesis 7, Noah’s obedience looked foolish to the world, but it flowed from deep trust in a faithful God. The story shows that real obedience grows out of relationship and trust, even when we don’t understand, and God’s sovereignty ultimately proves He is worthy of that trust.

Week 8

“Noah - Part 3”

Pastor Joe shows how the ruach (the wind and Spirit of God) signals a new beginning after the flood, echoing creation itself. Just as Noah trusted God through the storm and responded with worship, we’re called to trust His presence in our chaos and step into the new work He’s doing.

Week 9

“Noah - Part 4”

Even after the flood, the brokenness of the human heart remains, revealing that humanity’s greatest problem was never just the world around us but the sin within us. While the flood cleansed the earth, only Jesus can truly cleanse the human heart by restoring us to God.

Week 10

“‘From Every Nation’ Begins”

Genesis 10 shows how God formed the nations from Noah’s family, revealing that diversity was always part of His design. Yet through Nimrod, we see the warning that people must choose between living in dependence on God’s kingdom or building their own apart from Him.

Week 11

“Open-Handed”

Pastor Davis show how from the first garden to Gethsemane, Scripture reveals that humanity cannot overcome the power of sin on its own. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are invited to lay down our striving and come to God open-handed in prayer, receiving His grace and healing.

Week 12

“Lawn Chair from Hell”

Pastor Chris teaches that Genesis 11 reveals how human pride drives us to seek control and make a name for ourselves apart from God. In both judgment and mercy, God humbles our pride and points us to Jesus, the One who restores what we could never achieve on our own.

Primeval

WHERE TRUTH BEGINS

Primeval takes us back to the beginning, where God reveals His heart for the world. Through stories of creation, the fall, the flood, and the scattering of nations, we see both the beauty of God’s design and the depth of humanity’s brokenness, alongside His relentless pursuit of redemption.

This series reminds us that the God of beginnings is still at work today. Even in a fractured world, He continues to create, to restore, and to move His story forward, inviting us to trust Him and live faithfully within His greater plan.
